Separate sealed Bids for construction of the City of Flowood Hotel and Conference
Center Roadway Improvements, together with all appurtenances, will be received by
the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Flowood, Mississippi, at the Office of the
City Clerk until 10:00 o’clock A.M., local time, on the 3rd day of May, 2018, and then at
said office publicly opened and read aloud. This project includes paving, curb and
gutter, earthwork, grading and drainage, storm sewer pipes and inlets for storm sewer.
The "Information for Bidders," form of Bid, form of Contract, Plans and forms of Bid
Bond, Performance Bond and Payment Bond and other Contract Documents may be
examined at the following locations after the second advertisement date of April 11,
2018.

Copies may be obtained at the Office of Pickering Firm, Inc. after April 11, 2018 upon
payment of One hundred dollars and fifty ($150.00) for each set. This payment is not
refundable. Proposals shall be submitted, sealed and deposited with the City Clerk prior
to the hour and date above designated.
Each Bidder must deposit with his Proposal a Bid Bond or Certified Check, in an amount
equal to five percent (5%) of his Bid, payable to the City of Flowood as bid security.
Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement if requested by the City.
Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show Certificate of Responsibility
issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Each Bidder shall write his
Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his
Proposal.
opening thereof. The successful Bidder must provide both a Performance Bond and a
Payment Bond (each in the amount of one hundred percent [100%] of the Contract)
upon execution of the Contract. The Contract Time is one hundred and fifty (150)
consecutive calendar days with a liquidated damages provision of Five-Hundred Dollars
($500.00) per calendar day thereafter.
A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for April 20, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. local time at Flowood City
Hall, 2101 Airport Road, Flowood, Mississippi, 39232. Attendance by all prospective
Contractors, Subcontractors, and other interested parties is encouraged. The City of
Flowood reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
The First Advertisement date will be April 4, 2018.
The Second Advertisement date will be April 11, 2018.

Deposit does not include shipping. UPS Ground Shipping is an additional $21.60 payable to Jackson Blueprint and Supply.

furnish your own UPS or FedEx account number. Plans may be picked up at Jackson Blueprint to avoid shipping
charges.
Deposits are required from all bidders.
ADDENDUM DISTRIBUTION
Existing planholders will be notified by email upon the release of any addendum. Failure to order bid sets through Jackson Blueprint and not being on the planholders list may prevent you from being notified of issued addenda. Printed copies of addendum will be available as part of your bid package upon request by contacting Jackson Blueprint.
Addenda notifications are sent via email from the mail account of “notification@jaxblue.com” and could be flagged as spam by your company network firewall.
